I just upgraded 2 home PC's to Windows 7 and installed UVNC 1.0.6.5 on both and set one to listen on port 5900 and the other on port 9090. On my work laptop (XP SP 3 UVNC 1.0.6.5) that I have connected to my home network, I'm unable to connect to either Windows 7 PC and get the message, "Connection failed - Invalid protocol !". Prior to upgrading both home PCs, my work PC had no problems connecting. When I use Home PC 1 to connect to Home PC 2 using UVNC, I have no problems and visa versa. Both Home PC's belong to the Windows 7 "Homegroup" and they both have Norton Internet Security 2010 installed. Any ideas why the Windows 7 PCs can connect to each other but not an XP PC to either Windows 7 PC?
I had success today when I tried the XP to Window 7 connection after I upgraded both to UVNC 1.0.8.0 and tried it with no DSMPlugin selected on both. For some reason, I was having problems with a DSMPlugin but I have no idea why as the file compared fine between the 2 systems. I later changed this to DSMPlugin SecureVNCPluginARC4.dsm and that worked too.
