is it better to use the text URL or the ip address? I do not have static ip, so i used the URL

I have made two copies of the SC program, one for my LAN and one for people outside of my LAN (the Internet) but I cannot get the second one to work.

I have only tried it out on other computers on my LAN, could that be an issue? Do I have to test it outside of my LAN? The same computer that I am ...
