Hiding UltraVnc command line from task manager
If I launch the viewer with credentials on the command line, they can be seen in task manager if you turn on display of that column. Generally this is harmless, but in some cases it might be bad. I found a suggestion to prepend a large number of blanks before the command line parameters. This ...

Re: Mouse Cursor Not Tracked Properly (Windows? Lenovo?)
I just tried this on a PC freshly updated from Windows 7 to Windows 10 1909. It seems to fix the cursor tracking problem (which wasn't present in Windows 7). Thanks.

Re: W2k install not working V1.0.2 was OK
I'm not sure if this query was directed to me or to marlboro, but I am not using any encryption plugins. I run VNC either on local switched networks or through a VPN tunnel, so I'm not too worried about traffic being sniffed.did you use any encryption plugins ?

Re: uvnc on Windows 7 stops responding
Are you using the video hook driver? I had a machine that was failing when a connection was open for hours. I disabled the video hook driver and ran all afternoon without failing. But given how long it takes to fail, this test was far from conclusive. I've also got a user who connects from home to ...

Re: W2k install not working V1.0.2 was OK
I have 1.0.6.5 working in Win/2K machines at home and at work, so it's not a general problem.

Re: uvnc on Windows 7 stops responding
I've seen uvnc on XP die with similar symptoms. I have a suspicion that loss of network connectivity may sometimes trigger this because I saw it happen recently with a bad network cable. I will try to test whether this is reproducible.

Mirror driver version confusion
I've got two copies of driver.zip, one downloaded today, the other last September. When I look at dates and versions of mv2.dll for xp, I find that the one with the higher version number has the older date. In the current zip, the file date is 2008-oct-5 and the version is 5.1.2600.1106. In the old ...

Re: Linux Support
Thanks for the reply. With the target machine configured to require MS Logon, I can connect with UltraVNC from Windows or with VncThumbnailViewer from Linux (Fedora 10). Ssvnc can't authenticate. I think I need to take this question to an ssvnc forum. (VncThumbnailViewer seems rather buggy under ...

Re: Linux Support
ssvnc claims to support mslogon, but I can't get it to do anything but complain that it doesn't recognize the authentication type.

Separate command-line passwords for classic and MSLogin auth
The viewer has a -password option that is used with either classic or MSLogin authentication. I would find it convenient if different passwords could be specified on the command line for these two cases. (I start the viewer from another program that doesn't know how the remote is configured. Passing ...

Viewer - quick scaled/unscaled toggle
I sometimes connect to 10 or so machines at once to run time consuming tasks such as software installs or upgrades. Once a task has been started, it would be nice to have a button to switch to a 1/2 or 1/3 scaled window (ideally in view-only mode) to watch the progress bars go by or to switch back ...
