This is 100% confirmed XP Compatibility mode is required.
Actually it's worse than this.
I can use encryption and compatibility mode to connect, only sometimes, with
XP Listening to Vista Serving
NOT
Vista Listening to XP Serving
Been tearing my hair out for awhile, making things run in XP ...
