Hi Marius
In case you still interested, find the chunkvnc.ini in the Source\UltraVNC folder and change the Quality to something like 6 (or higher. I don't know what the max is). It worked for me.

Re: Stable ChunkVNC Repeater - Perl Script
Thanks for the quick response Rat. I did comment out the setpgrp lines as my first step and the script did run but it kept looping in the log file about an error with the PID coupled with the fact that I could not use it to connect (which I now realise is probably because my viewer is set to use ...

Hi
Has anyone managed to port this script to Windows? I am currently getting the error below:
I have tried googling but as my knowledge of perl is next to nothing, I am having a bit of trouble with it.

Hi Regi
As supercoe initially suggested, can you try uninstalling your firewall/antispyware software. I know you said you turned it off, but for some reason that isn't enough in all cases.

Re: Lack of control connecting to Win 7 PC
I have also noticed that when the UAC prompt comes up, the user can see it, but you can't see it on your screen. This is why I suggested it was a UAC issue.

Re: Lack of control connecting to Win 7 PC
Sounds like UAC. Are you sure there aren't any prompts coming up? Try disabling the antivirus. I assume you use a different AV at work and at home which may explain why it works in reverse. Just my guess.Beck-PC wrote:That is correct. I could see the screen, but nothing would click.

The only ports I have in settings are 5901 and 5500. I also have Enable Mode II enabled.
Would it be of any use to anyone if I attached the crash dumps that it tries to send to MS?

It creates an uninstall shortcut on the desktop. Just run that. It will kick you off once you run it of course.

Re: License Issue?
Sigh. Here we go, yet again. Apparently, instead of moving towards a more open code base with the next version, Rudi and the development team are going to use yet another restrictively licensed technology and release the next UltraVNC with a modified GPL license.

I'm running it on W2003 server. I notice that the service does crash quite often, but I have it set to restart on failure and that's good enough. Re: Repeater Problem
I had this problem when I was running the repeater as an application and it would hang because the repeater had "crashed". Re: ChunkVNC Upcoming Features and Requests
Hi, a very minor request which you may or may not be able to do, but is there a way to put in some sort of authentication so that people can't just use my repeater? Obviously the authentication would have to be built in to the app, rather than requiring either end to type in a password.

Re: Repeater as Service
Hi Supercoe, can I just confirm you don't recommend this because you haven't tested it, or because there is a known problem with running it as a service?
Nevertheless I have installed it as a service on my server and will see how it goes.
