Re: UltraVNC 1.02 with echoWare repeater

Scott,
I see where the settings are going in the registry once I manually setup the echoserver, username and password.

I built an installer with Innosetup and have all the ultra server settings working great but when I push a default echoserver setup into the registry it's there in the registry but ...

Re: UltraVNC 1.02 with echoWare repeater

Rob:

Heya; sorry for not being clear: the echoWare enhancements to UltraVNC are not (yet?) in the main 1.02 release, but in a modified release, available here .

To load the echoServer information into UltraVNC:

1. Once the Server is running in the service tray, right-click on it and choose ...

Re: UltraVNC 1.02 with echoWare repeater

I currently run my own echoserver but use echovnc. You are saying with the new 1.02 server and viewer I can use them and connect thru my echoserver? I don't see where the echoserver details are entered?

Can be done and would not hard to implement.

By adding some pre-connector app. Some extra exe you can put in your sfx without the need to modify the SC application.

*app:

+connect to your site and trigger a cgi ...

I am attempting to automate installation/setup of the WinVNC server and the MSRC4Plugin.dsm.

I don't think this works if you do not have vnc installed on the pc you are running the file from.

That doesn't work if you are both behind NAT with no port forwarding.

Try this, it's what I run here at the office:

vncviewer.exe /8Bit /dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin.dsm /listen 5500

Note: I use the encryption plugin, that's the MSRC4plugin.dsm line. Remove that if you don't use it. Use the exact spacing between lines and it should work. :D

If I'm disconnecting from a client and I don't want VNC server sitting waiting I right click on the icon in the tray and close it.
This logs me off and closes the server.
Just my $.02 :)

Ok, how do you create a .vnc file?
What does it do?
I'm looking to push the registry information to a new user.
I exported the registry settings to a .reg file and that is ok.
Just curious as to what the difference is.
Thanks

Create a batch file to call the add new client command and put the icon on the desktop. Have them start the server like you normally due then have them click this batch file:

winvnc.exe -connect

This makes that box popup. Make sure the batch file is in the ultra directory. 8)

I need to start the winvnc.exe outside of the batch file. I have my setup program start it, then call a batch file like this:

Create a Desktop Icon for Reverse Connection

Yes, I agree!
Can we have an executable just like the winvnc.exe to launch the reverse connect?
Also would need it to have a check box or something to call the ecryption plugin. That would be great.
Maybe also hold previous entries that are entered in the add new client box.
