we're compiling vnc sc ... and everytime we run our .exe, it keeps asking for the rc4.key in the \program files\ultravnc path. is the path hardcoded to seek \program files\ultravnc for the rc4.key?? if so, where is it in the code and how can we change this path?

I've had this SAME PROBLEM with ULTRAVNC SC! Sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. I just assumed it was the mirror that I installed. Hopefully there's a fix for this!

Can you tell us where in the source to look for the code to change so that vnc-sc does not look for the rc4.key when SC is run?

we can't seem to find it so that we can change the path to look elsewhere for the rc4.key.

The latest release for this one is April 9th (9 days ago). It's hardly abandoned.

Why not give them some of the changes that you made to the UltraVNC code inside yor smartcode control? It would an excellent chance for you to give something back to the VNC community. :)

I'm fairly positive that compiling the vnc code and your developed plugins into one package actually constitutes modifying it, and hence that would be a no go - but if you distributed Uvnc with your developed plug-ins you should be fine provided that you either distribute the source of Uvnc or ...

If what you say is true, then it would seem that a dozen companies that use ultravnc as their base code for their product is in violation of the GPL. Because these companies are still in operation selling their products as a single .exe or bundled with their plugin apps... what happens to them ...

Have you guys found any security issues using single click?

One security hole I see that can be a problem as this becomes more mainstream is the lack of authentication for connecting to a remote PC.

The only security used is a public key which is the same exact key that is used by the tech admin ...
