VNC works with FUS in application mode.
If vnc is stared by the user there is no problem.

MS changed the service interaction, they don't want longer that services can interact with the desktop (security).

in TEST19 we try the combine winvnc as service and application

Then "Reverse connection initiation" would be god send. So...

A person goes to (remote)server, clics server icon and chooses "Initiate connection" and types your IP. Server will open connection bethween the client and the server (your clien must be at public IP or so, naturally) .

I would suggest stunnel, as this will already run as a service. It is a open source, and IMHO has better long term support possuibilities. Zebedee as I recall is maintained by one person,

Until Untr@VNC comes out on with a Linux server I would recommend TightVNC for the Linux Server.

File transfer won't work, and it won't be quite as fast, but with ssh, scp and sftp...

As I understand it there is a problem. There is a 5 minute time out in the DMZ configuration mode.

however if the inbound is open from the repeater all you need is the repeater and server infor and it will work.

FTP has a long history of security issues. I would not suggest using it for file transfer.

sysinternal's psservice can restart the service and a stopped service will be started sans tray icon.

ever try one of the services like dyndns.org. you register a dns name anf then run software to initiate an update everytime it's online or detects a change.
