uvnc 1.3.4.1 winvnc service

Post by GillesAtHome »

Hello,

I am using UltraVNC for many years with the winvnc service installed.
Until version 1.3.4 everything was fine. I installed version 1.3.4.1 on several PCs (all with Windows 10 x64 21H1), unfortunately for one of them, the service is present, configured for automatic launch, but it does not start when launching the computer, it must be started after logging in.

If I downgrade the version to 1.3.4, everything goes normally again.

The only difference of this PC from the others is that it has an AMD FX processor and not an Intel.

Is there a solution ?

Best regards

bizare, changes in 1.3.4.1 where made to fix not autostarting the service in 1.3.4.

In 1.3.4 shutdown ( what's actual sleep ) stopped the service en resume didn't started it back.
This was fixed in 1.3.4.1 and confirmed working.

Service not starting.
After shutdown/stop or restart.
Is the service ( service manager) not running ?
Does start service ( service manager) works ?

Need more info to investigate it.
Thanks for the feedback.

I am having an issue with the server service side of things. I deploly UVNC through PDQ deploy with a set ini file and a .inf file that stay the same when I update the version. When I put on 1.3.4.1 most of the systems I have put them on the service is stopped when they reboot but they are set to automatic. I was just wondering if a setting has changed that needs to be updated in one of the 2 files or if there was anything i am missing to make these continue to start on startup?

Thanks,

Hi,
I had stayed away from the forum for a while, and also reverting to version 1.3.4 solved the problem. I have never had a problem launching the service on my machines in version 1.3.4 ... I only use uvnc at home.
I recovered version 1.3.4.2 last night, I put it on my wpkg server and started the forced installation on the stations (6 PCs) then I turned them off, this morning the service was started on all of them.

Thank you for your responsiveness and your excellent work with this software.

Best regards.
