Setting up remote control

I am very new to this and am having difficulty in setting up access to a remote computer. Is there a detailed guide available on how to set up UltraVNC Viewer and Server?
Would really appreciate your help.

It's pretty simple to begin with:
  • Download latest installer
  • Install "Server" component on the PC you would like to remotely control
  • Install "Viewer" component on the PC you would like to use to control the remote PC
  • Connect to "Server" machine by starting Viewer on the "Viewer" PC and connecting to IP or hostname of the "Server" PC
Common issues or misconception:
  • You need a direct network connection to connect form viewer to server (either on same network, properly routed or establishing port-forwarding to port 5900)
  • Read the "repeater" documentation if you want to connect to a host behind a firewall or NAT (you need to operate your own repeater on your own public server to do so)
  • UVNC 1.3.9 might include some cloud-connect to avoid having to run a repeater to reach hosts behind firewalls (similar to what TeamViewer does)
To start with I recommend to stick to pure LAN connectivity. Connect to a server on the same subnet to get familiar with viewer, encodings and connections.
