Multiple vnc connections on same server?

Post by Berque »

Hello
I have been using built in ms rdp. I have created 5 windows users and all of them can connect simultaneously on remote desktop. Each connects to their own account and do the work.
Lastly i needed to install a new software, which doesnt work on rdp connections. When i log in physically, the software works flawlessly. When i use rdp and click on the software, it gives an error message.
Anyway, i am looking for an alternative solution. So i want to try vnc.
Is the same scenario possible on vnc? Can multiple users login to same physical computer(server) and each log in their own Windows account?
I tried to reseach faq and other topics, but couldnt find information.
Thanks

Not possible.
VNC actual clone the (console)desktop. If 5 users connect, they all see the same desktop.
RDP start a seperated session all running seperated in there own user account.
VNC always run as the loggedon user.

Hi, so there is no way to use VNC as alternative for RDP for multiple Windows users?
Is this inherent incapability of vnc protocol, or just of Ultra VNC software?
Is there any VNC software where VNC sessions can be mapped to a particular Windows user and that User A cannot enter session of User B?

VNC is not the issue, that's a simple input/output protocol.
But below you would need to make separate sessions with each there own input, a lot of effort and it would not be legal as MS doesn't allow
multiple sessions with a single license.
