Bug persists from 1.3.8 concerning "server:port" drop-down on VNC Viewer's initial connection screen

Post by MerlinYoda »

The bug I reported here still persists. The fix to this is to not use any lower-case letters, a semi-colon (i.e. ";"), or a left brace (i.e. "[") as parameter names under the connection section of the options.vnc configuration file. Under Windows, all upper-case letters would be fair game as well as all the other remaining symbols (a few of which you already make use of) and digits (i.e. 0-9).

Specifying lower-case letters for parameters just winds up overwriting the value of their upper-case counterparts in Windows as the parameters are case insensitive (likely everything is interpreted as uppercase in the background but retains whatever case is specified in the file). Specifying a ; or a [ causes problems because those characters have special meaning as the first character of a line in configuration files under Windows.
