Any option for me to not have to type the password every time?

Post by vertigoelectric »

I use UltraVNC over a private LAN. Is there any way to get UltraVNC Viewer to remember the password so I don't have to enter it every time? I do not need to access UltraVNC over the internet, however the LAN is still connected to the internet so I don't know if removing the password requirement altogether would be a good idea, but if there is a safe way to do it, that would be an acceptable solution.

Thanks!

You could use a link file and command line arguments for that:
explorer->right-click->new->link
select vncviewer.exe from C:/program files...
link file->right-click->properties
edit 'Destination' field and add the following arguments: "-host DESTINATION_IP -password PASSWORD"
(replace the uppercase with your values)

Beware that the password is now stored in clear text on your computer !

Thank you so much! The command line arguments are perfect.
