Thanks a lot :D

I started to consolidate the documentation that was included in RC19.5.
I ended up with the uploaded files :-)
The layout is based on CSS, so it's adaptable relatively easy.
The design is mainly taken from an open source CSS template called Prosimii from haran.

Please review:

Is the
- content correct? comprehensive?
- navigation intuitive?
- layout ok?
I only tested it with IE6, don't know if other browsers display it the same way (or at least acceptable).
If anybody is interested, I could also provide the "source" of the documentation.

I can just say "wow" :o

Looks professionnal.
Great work Martin.

Looks pretty good using FireFox.
Excepted a strange rectangle border on the Licence page. Nothing lethal.

Do you need some help on the missing doc parts (DSM, FT, JavaViewer...) ? Will be ablle to write some content as soon as I've finished with the %$£§@ remaining FT bugs.

Yep, looks really good and indeed very professional ! :)

I hope there'll also be a section about the various connection options (Format and Encoding), I haven't found much information about that stuff yet and I guess it can really help to improve results even more if you know what those settings actually do and you can manually tweak them to fit your needs...

netwolf,

Thanks for the praise and your suggestions.
Maybe we should collect a list of topics which should be documented.
We also discuss how the documentation process could be set up so that no HTML knowlegde is necessary to help writing documentation.

Secondly I think this would be a great Idea. We could even pose these questions to the new people of the group and see what they think. Since this documentation helps both the advanced user and the new one. Does this mean a new area dedicated to Documentation? hmm?

Tried to organize things a little bit better.
Made the side-bar scrolling with the page.
Checked XHMTL and CSS validity.

Would it be possible to create this site as a Wiki so the community can fix spelling mistakes, add new content, etc.?

I think it would be very difficult to change the doc.uvnc.com site to a Wiki.
But it would certainly help to have a Wiki as a scratchpad for documentation and then consolidate the results into the official documentation.

Marsha,
Oliver recently stated that he wants to put a wiki in. There is a thread on the doc writers subtopic. I learn more and more about Ultra VNC everyday and the online documents are the key. Eventhough people do not read it is nice to link them to the online documentation that answers their questions. I try to do a search for a thread but I just dont have the luck in finding what I need and a wiki I think would solve this problem plus the ability to change spelling errors etc would be great. I know I am one of those users that can not spell to save my life and there isnt a spell check option on the forum so I am sure that my posts are riddled with error but at least I do try to help other users..:)
