Is anyone using Teamviewer ?

Post by LeeL »

Has anyone taken a look at a product called Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com)? It appears to be based on the VNC code base but they have added a proxy server component and the trial looks great. If it is based on VNC it is one of the best SC implementations I have seen.

The one problem that I can determine from their site is (other than it is not free :) ) is that the viewer is tied to a specific workstation. From a licensing point of view I can see why but it makes it difficult if you wanted to support users from multiple locations or machines.

They do have a free version that is good for 30 minutes and 5 hours per month plus they also list source code on their site but it doesn't include their proxy server.

If anyone is using this product I would be interested in hearing how well it works in a production situation.

Lee
