Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
A few questions:
1) Where can we get the full installer for 1.0.9.6?
2) Why are we sticking to the 1.0.* line? Isn't this build good enough for a v1.1 release?
3) What are the current silent install options and instructions? The ones listed don't seem to work as when we put the password in the registry the install still pops up a screen asking for the password.

I have one more:
4) What changes does this release include since "1096 pretest", please?

I can't get either of these links to work. They are just not responding. Whats wrong? Are there any alternative download locations?

Links work...
goto
http://www.uvnc.com:8080
download->ultravnc->1096
You can not acces them direct, anti leech protection only allow access from uvnc.com. This force to read the text on the download pages.
"If you download a zip, and use the embedded iexplorer unzip, the OS
add a unsecure bit the to exe. This disable ctr-alt-del and other functions that require high security level access"

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
The problem is that http://www.uvnc.com:8080 is inaccessible for me:
Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/img]
Could this be a firewall issue on my side?

Server is still online, re-tested.
If your outgoing port 8080 is blocked it could be an issue.

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
It is a firewall issue. I got hold of a computer outside the company network and the paged worked fine.
Sorry about the trouble and thanks a lot for the quick replies!

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
Somebody posted recently whose router directed ALL port 8080 requests to its internal web server! Terrible terrible router!
[topic=27550][/topic]
Apparently a "TP-Link".
Since in the US the abbreviation "TP" usually means toilet paper, perhaps that's appropriate.

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
I'm using a TP-link without problems.
It's cheap, 4x 1GB ethernet and 300mb wifi for 49EU
internet<nat router>--<nat (TP-link)router>--PC's
After first nat is a pc with forwarded ports
After second nat home network.

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
Well isn't that a strange coincidence then. I hadn't even heard of TP-Link before today.
Rudi, do you think the user in the other thread just had it misconfigured? He or she was saying that all port 8080 requests were being captured by the router rather than allowed to pass through to the destination server.

Possible some transparent proxy only forward 443 and 80.

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
That web page is edited by who?
The front page tells one that 1.0.9.6 is out...but there's no download link.
The news section of the front page has a link to all versions...or so one would think. All links point to http://www.uvnc.com:8080/ - the exact same page. And on that page, there's nothing to download.
If one then returns to www.uvnc.com and selects the download page...the newest version is 1.0.8.2.

No, http://www.uvnc.com:8080/ has a link on the right labeled "DOWNLOAD UltraVNC 1.0.9.6"
That takes you to
http://www.uvnc.com:8080/downloads/ultr ... -1096.html
Nevertheless, I agree it's still kind of a mess.

I assisted Rudi in setting up the new BETA site, and have assisted in copying many of the main pages accross to that site (editing / updating as we went), but there is still work to be done.B wrote:I agree it's still kind of a mess.
Rudi and I have done alot of work to get the new site (BETA) up and running in the state it is in, we are slowly moving everything to the new (BETA) website, but we are trying to get all pages updated and current before making it the main site (amung other things).
please remember we are all volunteers doing this, so works are done in our spare time, rather than as a priority.
sorry if it doesn't make sense at the moment, but I hope you can understand that 90% of work on UVNC softwares & website are done by one person (Rudi), so making changes to a site that will soon be removed, is a waste of his valuable time ...

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
When you say without updated java viewer does that mean the http access will not be working correctly?
We use the http access for clients to view only to our agents pc's with mslogon authentication, after upgrade form 1.0.8.2 to 1.0.9.6 we no longer get the username/password prompt in the webpage we just get a password box.
Am I missing something or will there be a fix for this forthcoming?
Thanks in advance,
Dave

Re: Release 1096 for 2 april
Kingark, I <b>think</b> (but am not sure) that Rudi meant the Java client wasn't actually finished yet, but he was releasing 1.0.9.6 because of some important bugs in 1.0.9.5?

If I right click UltraVNC system tray icon (notification area icon) and click on Visit Our Site > HomePage it gives this error:
Oddly enough, the page opens fine and clicking continue seems OK. Nothing seems broken after this error.
