PCHelpWare V2 Viewer - how to remove included servers?

Post by remote77 »

Hello,

PCHelpWare V2 seems to be a really good tool to help other people with their computer problems. Compared to Teamviewer the solution with PCHelpWare V2 is nearly as good.
I need a solution that is installed on my friends computer and I can see when he is online. In the case help is demanded I then can klick on the button and connect my with his computer.

But one problem still exits - how can I remove former added servers with names from my friends computers from the list which I have created? It is fine to see all newly added servers in the group - but how to remove entries? As far as I assume all entries of the groups and the servers names in it are stored on the servers from uvnc (62.212.66.133. and 216.55.170.47) - what if there is someone who does not need any more help ot whatever. I did not find any way to remeove this entry fro the group.

Who can help me?

Thanks a lot

Use your own group, don't use the sample group as you wil see some other people servers.
I guess you are already using your own group.

As long as the server part is running, you see the host in the list.
Normal, (62.212.66.133. and 216.55.170.47) only cache the data for a few minutes, and when not refreshed it's removed.
Auto flush take minutes, first both 62.212.66.133. and 216.55.170.47 need to flush it, then it need to be transmitted to the viewer.
You can press the refresh button (viewer site) to force a reload.

Are you sure they closed the server ? ( Try P2P connect, if it works it still running)

Hello,

thanks for the quick answer. Yes I am sure that no server is running - I tried to startup P2P and it failed. There are still names of servers listet, which I tried early this morning. That I use another name than the standard name of the group is clearly. If I push the reload button it takes a few seconds and again all the servers are listed BUT they are NOT online anymore.

Whatelse can I try out?

Correct, i remember back... softare is already more then a year ago.

The reload button should give the exact state, but indeed old names stay, when i remember this was done as previous request.
People wanted to see if a server went down. If you have a fixed number of servers ( green are OK, red is online).
The viewer reload the local file ( the list (encrypted) keep passwd/name pairs for reuse to avoid that you need to reenter the passwd)

Possible you could start the viewer with a bat file, the bat erase the file before starting the viewer...then you would only see the online servers

Hello,

I am afraid that is no solution at all. Which files need to be deleted? I thought that it was "pchelpware.ini" which is situated in the dirctory named C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\uvnc\pchw\settings. When it is removed pchelpware viewer asks for the group name and the password - when I entered the former values again the Servers are listed which are not anymore online. Thus it must be another way to erase the offline Servers.

I would use ultra vnc instead - but there is no way to find the servers running over the internet showing who is ready to be connected and who is not. Or did I miss something?

checked src
62.212.66.133. and 216.55.170.47
old server is cleaned after 150s of inactivity
It can take almost 3 minutes before he is removed
The file is only consulted when you connect to see if a password can be reused.

I realy don't know what's happening, server is removed from cache
*max 150seconds after you close the server
*when a connection is made between server/viewer
*when the server send a remove command

Next time the viewer auto reload he should be gone.
I realy don't see why you keep seeing them, if it wasn't working, the sample group should now have 1000x old entry's...

Hello,

it works now!! I don´t know why but I found out that the release time of the online servers was not 5 minutes or so but much more longer. The devices that were offline were not been shown the next day anymore. That is OK now.

But the file transfer is not properly working. I always get the error message "mem error" when I try zo send or fast send a file within the chat function.
Is the file size limited?

Thanks

Tom
