Redge has noticed an interesting fact. The new AES plugin doesn't appear to cause the same symptoms on his wireless network.

The AES plugin is probably introducing a little more latency in the connection. (It takes a little longer to do AES Encryption, and it takes a little more time to build the MAC header) so perhaps this could explain the problem.

I suspect the problem is the wireless router can't keep up with the speed of the data and the processor requirements of encrypting already compressed/encrypted packets. There are a number of wireless routers that are known to do strange things (including random reboots) under heavy loads.

One interesting test would to drop your wireless router back to WEP (RC4) and smaller key sizes. I don't know what your router supports, but a 40bit encryption would be less cpu intensive. I wouldn't recommend you do that long term though... But it might give us an idea of what the problem is.
