Unable to connect to a locked machine with Query Accept

Post by Aergan »

Hi,

I've noticed that it is not possible to connect to a locked machine (WINKEY + L) when Query Accept is enabled.

Simple password or Microsoft ACL doesn't change the behavior.

Affects Windows 7 x86 & Windows XP.

RealVNC free is able to do this on XP.

Any suggestions or possible solutions to resolve this please?

How does it work on RealVNC? How could a user accept the query if he isn't even logged in? Does it just fall back to non-query mode when it recognizes that no one's logged in?

QuerySetting=4
QueryTimeout=10
QueryAccept=1 <<< Action after timeout/screensaver/logon
QueryIfNoLogon=1 <<< no popup when logon/screensaver

I remember changing something for this in 10951..if possible try with
a a 10951 server.

If the workstation is locked, it prompts the users to still accept (E.g. another user in an office)

This can allow for Administrators to log off the account and get back to winlogon.

So the background UltraVNC service pops up a query box on TOP of the locked or logged out Welcome/Login screen? And ANYONE standing there can accept the query?

Hmm, I'm not sure I like the sound of that....

But it's good to know the option exists....
