SC - Multi Monitor Support

Post by cgfresno »

So I've managed to convince my fellow IT Peers in the company I currently work for that SC is better than any support tools they've been using. Especially now that SC has built in Win 7 / Vista support.

Having used SC since before VISTA and 7 were released I know pretty well how to get it work. I've a version of SC generated that I've been using for awhile now through a repeater and with encryption.

My question stems from multi-monitor support of SC. While dual display works with SC in windows XP, it does not in Windows 7. What's also interesting is that if there is a computer that has more than two monitors, it will only switch between two. I've only tested multi monitor in windows XP (only two screens) and windows 7 (two and three screen setups).

Windows XP when switching to a different display will work as expected.

Windows 7 when switching to a different display only shows a black screen. On the client PC I can see the inputs are being recorded, but the viewer is not updating the screen to reflect changes, nor does it draw the initial display connection.

Now on to versions:
Using the most up-to-date online SC builder updated in 2011.
WINVNC included is 1.1.0.0. (252 KB)
SCHook.dll is Version 1.0.0.2 (71 KB)
VNCHooks.dll is version 3.3.6.0 (52 KB)

What I'm looking to see is multi-monitor support in Windows 7, and the ability to connect to all monitors on the client PC. I'd also like to see all displays show in a panoramic view, like full VNC is capable of doing. (This last one is for ease of use more than anything).

I'm loving the ability to bypass UAC!!!

Can anyone provide pointers to fix multi-monitor support?

As a side note, a user posted the same problematic symptoms shortly after I did, on a separate forum:
