Enabling Mouse and Keyboard on Server

Post by pdr »

Hi Ultra People:

I have installed UltraVNC 10.9.6.2 Server on an XP, SP3 Home Pentium computer with 2.4 ghz 1 gb RAM.
The Viewer is installed on an XP, SP3 Home and Media Centre computer with Mj2 Duo CPU @ 2.4 ghz and 3.49 gb RAM.

I am able to connect to the server, but do not know how to enable mouse and keyboard control of the server from the viewer. The mouse and keyboard work fine with all the features of Uvnc (I can use the toolbars, type in chat, etc), but cannot do anything on the server itself. In fact, the mouse changes from the usual arrow when it touches VNC features into an almost invisible dot on the screen of the server. Clicking mightily (and even gently) on the mouse while it is in the screen area of the server produces nothing at all. The keyboard does not appear because I cannot open any applications on the server.

The only change I actually made in the defaults is the password to be able to log onto the server. Is there a different setting somewhere that I have missed?

Cheers,

Peter

Thanks to q7joey, I have the answer to my question, which is:
the default option to ignore remote control is on by default. run the settings program and under the input/file transfer tab, uncheck the disable viewers input box, then restart the uvnc service.
Many Thanks!
