viewer input only after open Admin properties dialog once

Post by TabSel »

Now this is strange: I use iPhone/iPad remoter labs' "Remoter VNC" clients with UVNC servers (x64).

Connecting works perfectly, however, there will be no viewer input to the server unless I opened the servers "admin properties" dialog (it shows "Disable Viewers Input" unchecked). I don't change any setting of neither client nor server, I just open the "Admin properties" dialog and suddenly viewers input work...!

I tried running "uvnc_settings.exe" (running as administrator, too), I tried running as service, or as application, as administrator, too. The behaviour is allways the same: No viewer input, unless I open the "Admin properties" dialog...

Any help or ideas appreciated!

(also, I've got a freshly installed Win7 laptop here, with some basic drivers/software installed. There allways is a "C:\test.exe" created, no matter how often I delete it, it will be there upon the next boot. digital certifcate issuer is "uvnc bvba", email "rudi dot de dot vos at kynet dot be"...? What might cause this file created each time on boot? How can I track the cause/app which creates this file?)

Thanks

Re: viewer input only after open Admin properties dialog onc

Post by TabSel »

ok, I am so dumb, please excuse me, I found the solution:

I was not aware of the TWO PASSWORDS or I did not read well upon installation/configuration. So, I typed in my username in the first password field, my password in the second (view-only) password field...

whenever I logged in to the server, I specified my password and got logged in with view only... opening the Admin properties dialog seems to have the server read the ini settings again, so the "Disable Viewer Input" checkmark was displayed and set as unchecked and I could control the server from the client...

However, there is this other issue about this "C:\test.exe", any clues about that?

Thanks
