64 Bit XP Install Fails

Post by James Allen »

Trying to migrate from 1.0.9.6.1 to 1.1.8.8 or 1.1.8.9:

1.0.9.6.1 installs fine on 32 or 64 Bit XP and 64 Bit W7 (all our workstations).
1.1.8.8 or 1.1.8.9 install fails with errors only on 64 Bit XP (and only with x64 installer).
The error form is:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Unable to execute file:
C:\Program Files\uvnc bvba\UltraVNC\<file name>.exe

CreateProcess failed; code 2.
The system cannot find the file specified.
-----------------------------------------------------------
where <file name> is "setpasswd" in the first message and "setcad" in the second.
Attempting to use the register as service option results in a third error with "UltraVnc" as the file name.

No executable files at all (exe, dll, etc.) are copied to the program directory by the installer. The x86 installer seems to work fine, but I'd rather be able to use the native x64 installer as before.

Anyone else having the same problem, or does this work for you and I need to look for something wrong or different on our systems? I did try without antivirus, but that made no difference.

Respectfully,

James

Excellent! 64 bit installer seems to work again for 64 bit XP. Thank you, Rudi.
