Recording and Playing The VNC session

Post by Sreejith »

Hi Team,

I have a requirement where I would like to share the screen of my windows tablet to multiple systems in my LAN/internet network.
The windows tablet is not part of any network and will be connected to a single workstation/virtual system through a Ethernet cable.
The workstation will act as a proxy between tablet and other systems in the LAN network.

Hence I need to know the below details.

UltraVNC Server and Proxy

1) Is there any proxy service available along with ultraVNC, which can be installed inside my workstation which can route all the requests to a UltraVNC server running on the tablet ( i tried repeater but it didnt got setup well for me).
2) The proxy should be also able to do recording of the data transfered through it. So that I can save the data/screen shared by my tablet through proxy for later reviews.
3) I should be able to play back the recorded session using some player.

Is there any such proxy and player combination available with UltraVNC.?

Also I need to know if the UltraVNC viewer can be integrated to any WPF controls ?

Thanks for your suggession
I had given a try with vncreflector and was able to do some recordings.
I had used option " -s FBS_PREFIX - save host sessions in rfbproxy-compatible files " to save session.

The file currently being saved is in format "recFile.001".
Is there any way I can view the contents of this, Any rfb player which plays this file ? or is it just a configuration file.

Sorry, don't have the answer, never used it myself.
Only verified the src ones, to see how they did something...
