support for non-english keyboard

Post by pila »

When using non-US keyboard, most remapped keys can not be used in UltraVNC. I can type only characters on the numeric row which have been remapped. Anything else - I can not type on a remote machine!

For my language, that means I can not type some 20 characters. I can not type 5 lower + 5 upper case letters normally used in my language 8each surname has at least one of them). I can not type \|€[]{} characters. But the worse of all - I can not make an e-mail address since i can not type @ character!

Since most of the planet does not use US ASCII keyboard, this is not problem just for me. This is actually a bug report and not a feature request per se since non-US keybopards function properly for about 30 years now. Except in UltraVNC which is otherwise great.

We use belgian keybaords while programming and the @ is also a special key (alt-gr-2) an works
There are 3 keyboard modes (normal/alternate/international) does non of them work ?

Does the remote pc have a different keyboard then the local ? sending alt-gr-2 to a us keyboard doesn't do anything as it doesn't exist on that keyboard.
