Connect only with IP (V4), not with DNS-Name

Post by pol... »

Hello.

Since a long time, I have the following problem:
  • Connect with IP (f.i. 192.168.0.209) works fast and reliable.
Connect with DNS-Name show 'connecting' and after a while 'failed to connect to server'
IPv4 and IPv6 on both machines is enabled. I need this.
PING <DNS-NAME> with V4 and V6 works perfect.

Specials:
  • AuthRequired is set to 0, this must be so!
Both machines have more than one Network cards (f.i. LAN and WLAN) but ONLY ONE of them is connected at the time (no double connections)! Because of this, it's uncomfortable that Connection via DNS does not work.
Can anyone help me?

Thanks pol...

Can you ping or telnet from a cmd to that dns name.
VNC use the OS dns to resolve a name.

Sometimes a full qualified name is needed xxx .domain.com
