Does UltraVNC work on Windows 11?

Post by schmiedingm »

Hello everyone,

After upgrading to Windows 11, my remote connection seems to not work. I am able to connect to my laptop located at a different address, however after typing in the correct password I am denied access.

The only thing that has changed is my version of Windows. The other device (the laptop trying to be connected to) is still running Windows 10. I know the password has not changed so I am thinking it to be the version of windows. Does anyone know if Win 11 is supported?

Thanks

yes it does.

Possible you need to allow again the ports or exe in the firewall.

The password can also be set as non portable (option), in that case some internal numbers is used to generate a decryption key.
If windows11 generate diffrent numbers... it could be that the passwor is not longer valid.

I believe it worked fine for me with Windows 10 client and Windows 11 "server".

Is it OK to install again on top of a prior install? Just in case some permissions got messed up along the way.
