VNC Control - Manager with slightly different approach.

This forum is for VNC related products | This means not only UltraVNC | It even is allowed to announce or describe commercial (and of course non-commercial) programs here (but not anywhere else in the forum)

ATTENTION!!! VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Since 30.01.2007 this program is no longer free.
The price is now 25$. (USD)
You can however download and use it for personal or commercial evaluation purposes for infinite period of time, without any restrictions. The source code is still open.
If you decide to buy it, you will receive (if you wish) e-mail notifications of any new versions available and I'll answer your e-mail questions and suggestions with topmost priority. Also (again if you wish), your name or alias will be included in the list of the Honored owners of VNC Control.
Another thing: You can buy as many copies of the program as you like.

These changes are made, because I'm going through a difficult financial times and I plan to increase my family members soon. :-]

Hi dv8 and everybody,

I discovered and tried VNCControl just today first time and I too think it's a great and really useful tool. The only thing I can't set up properly is using the Tabbed Viewer, it always opens a new window instead of new tab - but that has been mentioned here before and as I understand, it's some kind of misdesign in Tabbed Viewer.
But strange, if I try to close just the one tab, it always re-appears immediately. The viewer can be closed though, and the tab can be closed if I open another tab first.
dv8 wrote:Here is a short list of ToDo items I have in mind for VNCControl:

1. setting up some HotKeys.
2. Logging the connections times (for people who use the program for remote support and need this info for billing)
3. Lists for auto connect to multiple PCs by ONE click.

That's it for now.
Thank you for keeping in touch and delivering these nice ideas.
:)
I'm hot for number 3. :) Actually I guess I will continue using Tabbed Viewer to watch the pupils - even if Windows groups the (up to) 15 normal Viewer windows in the task bar, the tabbed is more clear to me.
But "3" would be great for the second task VNC is scheduled here, which is presentation to all screens. Easiest way I could think of, would be to select "Clients" control and then click on the group name.

Hey, I hope you are getting some income! From other projects I know, they are often really disappointed when comparing the numbers of downloads by happy users with the number of payments.

Hello w-sky.
Nice to hear some more good words for my program. :)
When I first started to developed the VNC Control I wanted to use Tabbed viewer too, but it turned out that it didn't have the appropriate command line options (My program uses the command line options of UltraVNC viewer and server). That's why I get stuck with the normal viewer.

About the income - as you can see there is only one Honored owner in the list so do the math.

The ToDo list will have to wait a bit longer, since there are some projects I'm working on now, that actually bring some money. 0:-)

VNC Control (http://vnccontrol.hit.bg) - Version 1.5.3 - available for download. :D

* Added functionality to connect at once to all the computers in a group by selecting the group and then choosing "Connect with VNC" from the right-click menu. And also the "Groups and Computers" window is now bigger so it can properly display the texts in all available languages.

Hello JamCamCo,
this error has something to do with the latest versions of AutoIt. :(
The EXE is compiled using version 3.2.1.11.
I tried to run the source with this version and it runs fine.
When I tried to run it with the latest version of AutoIt (3.2.4.9) it crashes at the "Network Scanner" without any error message. :(
I'll try to further investigate this issue. Thanks for pointing it out.

But unfortunately this will not be done any time sooner, because I have plenty of other work to do. :-*

Yes, VNC Control can be used with repeater. I'm using it right now!

Just set "/proxy IP:port" (without quotes) in Settings->Groups and Computers, PC Settings Tab, Connection Options textbox.

IP:port is the IP and port designated to reach the computer with the repeater (a router with port forwarding if over Internet or the repeater computer itself if on a LAN)
