My environment:
I have UltraVNC Server 1.4.36 installed on a Windows 2019 Server. It runs as a service.
I have UltraVNC Viewer 1.4.36 installed on a Windows 10 Workstation.
My questions:
1. I have RDP session to the Windows 2019 Server opened, and logged in as "abc". Run UltraVNC Viewer from Workstation to connect to UltraVNC Server on the Windows 2019 Server, After typing in the VNC password, the windows login window appeared. Type in the windows login credential for account "abc", the VNC connection established, but it killed existing RDP session that was logged in with an account "abc". Is VNC connection using the RDP protocol? Has there been a setting in UltraVNC Server or UltraVNC Viewer to avoid using RDP, rather just clean the UltraVNC Server windows from the Viewer. With the old version before, we can have the RDP session and UltraVNC Viewer session co-exist.
2. When run the UltraVNC Viewer, the windows login screen has a keyboard at the bottom. It blocks to switch users that is available to be used to login. Is there a way to make this keyboard disable/enable?
Thx
Ingrd

UltraVNC Viewer connection to Windows 2019 Server terminate the exiting RDP session
Re: UltraVNC Viewer connection to Windows 2019 Server terminate the exiting RDP session
The UltraVNC Server works just as a local screen (and does not use RDP protocol). When you connect to the Windows 2019 Server with RDP, the local user gets logged out and the session is run for the remote RDP connection. (With RDP only 1 session is normally allowed, unless specifically setup multiple in Windows Server.)ingridcao wrote: 2024-08-14 21:05 1. If you then connect to the Server with UltraVNC, you get the same as the local screen, so you get the login. That's normal. If you go to the Server yourself, there is also a login screen. If you login on that screen, the RDP session gets logged out automatically.
Are you sure you didn't have a Terminal Server then (it's called "Remote Destop Services" nowadays)? In that case you can open multiple sessions and the RDP session wouldn't be kicked out when you locally login (i.e. with UltraVNC). But the Server needs to be setup specifically for that.ingridcao wrote: 2024-08-14 21:05 With the old version before, we can have the RDP session and UltraVNC Viewer session co-exist.

I'm not sure who displays that keyboard but it sounds like "Accessibility options" is on (i.e. Onscreen keyboard).ingridcao wrote: 2024-08-14 21:05 2. Can't you click that keyboard away with the X at the top-right of the keyboard?
Otherwise, do you have a screenshot of that screen?

@ingridcao: Have you seen the @rvk answer?
Have you installed the latest UltraVNC build?
