Plugin doesn't work

Problem is....with the DSM plugin checked to use on the server I can get into the VNC server without having it checked on the VNC viewer.

I have the same rc4 key file on both server and viewer...I have the same dsm plugin file on server and viewer. I have checked also that default and user settings reflect which way I am trying to connect between server/viewer.

It did work for a few weeks but just stopped letting me use the plugin a few days ago. I have uninstalled UltraVNC and reinstalled it and download the plugin and make a fresh key to see if that would change anything....nada.

I have tried the key, plugin and viewer from different computers nd always can connect when the server has the plugin checked or not checked and with the viewer not having the plugin checked!

What I've discovered is that of my four computers, only one will let you login with out the dsmplugin box checked (all four vnc servers have the use dsmplugin box checked). You can login to this one computer from any of the other three without having the box checked. I have checked everything(see other posts) - default/user settings - all have the box checked....uninstalled/reinstalled at least a dozen times....clean the registry of all VNC settings except the legacy ones.

When I went back to a May Norton Image of my C drive and I again installed Ultra VNC (18) on this computer it worked fine!!

What am I missing on my current C drive that lets me login on a computer where the DSM is unchecked but checked on the server???

Download and install the newest version 1.0.1 then copy the msrc4plugins into the ultravnc root folder. I use the no reg plugin only for my connections. Then you goto vncserver properties choose your plugin. Click config. Generate your key I use 128bit you can use whatever you wish. then goto the "Program Files\UltraVNC\ folder and rename your new.rc4key to rc4key be sure to kill the vncserver.exe before doing this or you will get errors. once you have the rc4key renamed, fire back up the server and see if you encryption will work. You will know because your viewer display that when you connect to the server. If it doesnt say msrc4 plugin on the top of the screen you may want to visit the FAQ forum and see what you have done incorrectly.
