Repeater Settings if NOT using uvnc.com
What entry do I place in the Host Repeater block if I am not using uvnc.com? I thought I should use my ip address for my DynDNS account however when I do that I get a Failed to connect error when I try to start my viewer. I have PcHelpware Repeater Rel 1.00 Any assistance would be appreciated.

hmm
that should work.
I never tried to use a repeater on a dynamic DNS host or dynamic IP.
Can any confirm or deny that a dyn ip will work??

I have used the repeater on a DYNDNS account for over a yaer for SC. I also have used the PCH with repeater using DYNDNS. In the host repeater box I just entered my DYNDNS site and ports.

What ports do you enter in the repeater area? I am using 5901 and 5500.

Set it up identical to what you have on your repeater. The fields are labeled the same in both.

Re: Repeater Settings if NOT using uvnc.com
Thats what I have set up and when I attempt to run the viewer I get the error Failed to connect and when I run the repeater test I get three lines:
Repeater test
Failed to connect to viewer port
Failed to connect to server port
If I change the repeater to uvnc.com the test works. That leads me to think there is a problem with my DynDNS. I checked all of my entries and cannot see any problems. Do I need to do anything with my router port settings when I am using DynDNS?

Do you have the correct ID for the repeater.

Re: Repeater Settings if NOT using uvnc.com
I am using the same ID I used when using unvc.com as the repeater.

No other thoughts. I assume you are using the PCH repeater??
Can you ping your DYNDNS account??

Thanks for the time and effort. I can ping the DYNDNS account and I am using the PCH repeater.

you forgot to open 2 ports to the router where your own repeater is hosted.

Well worth the effort, everything is working very well. I connected to three other PC's, two of which are behind routers and with no problems.
