Does it matter who is "online" at first: The serve

Post by thoste »

Is it important who is running at first:
The server or the viewer ?

Is it important for both scenarios: Direct connection AND with repeater ?

In other words if the viewer is NOT running and the server starts he obviously does not find the viewer.

Does the server remain active and poll e.g. every 10 seconds until the
viewer becomes active?

Or does the server exit when he does not find a counterpart viewer ?

I just tried connecting from the viewer without the server running and it timed out after about 30 seconds and brought me back to the connect screen.

P.S. I'm using a repeater.

It is a good rule of thumb to always start the viewer before the server so that it can connect. In direct option you really do not have a choice.

When using a repeater you do not have much time but I have started the server first then the viewer and it works but I would imagine the time frame would be short.
