Help me and others understand DYNALIAS

Post by deeman »

I am not sure when I need to use the Dynalias option.

I understand from reading version 9 of the step by step and the various FAQ's that it needs to be set to port 5912, but when and why would I need to use this?

Thanks,

Mike

The feature is only needed if you use it. It is mostly used for a direct connection that is suppose to take the place of a dyndns account. Alot of users have not had success with this option.

Update: The repeater seems to be causing the problem with the dynalias option it has been classified as buggy and not recommended to use yet..
