Must disable Proxy using JavaViewer with Mac Safari client

Post by itmgr »

I am using the Safari browser on my Mac to view Windows clients on my corporate network while inside the network. We have turned on the network authentication requirement on all VNC servers. The network uses a Proxy Server to protect it's Internet connection. I must disable the use of the Proxy in Safari to be able to remote to machines within the network: if I don't the login screen never appears. It's as if the mac is trying to get something from the Internet in order to make the connection, but can't because the Proxy connection is disabled.

Even stranger, both IE and Safari on Windows work fine with the Proxy connection enabled.

Does anyone know if this is fixable. I don't want to keep disabling and enabling the Proxy just to make a VNC connection.
