better mouse handling request

Post by MisterE »

I like vnc but am i the only one who hates the mouse handling?

You see 2 mouses, one black point (the position of the mouse in the host) and a cursor for the viewer. Why would i like to see the position of the mouse of the host in the viewer? If i am working with a guest system i would like the mouse been trapped in the window, like vmware does. Pressing alt-ctrl to release it.

Or if some people like the current system make it optional and better. Now i can sometimes not reach some places because the cursor does not move along if i move my mouse. Then i have to make some strange movements so it would move again.
Secondly, if i move my mouse in the guest then the black point and the cursur move at the same speed. If i then leave the guest with the mouse and move a centimeter to the left and go back to the guest the cursur jumps about 3 centimers.

you can disable remote pointer = remote dot mice

edit ultravnc.ini and add under [Admin]
PointerPos=0

This feature PointerPos=1 enabled by default for easy remote support for follow what doing/show remote user on local viewer
this increase usage of the network connection/cpu

vncviewer... Options...
don't show remote cursor
