"Vista Challenge 1"?

Hey guys,

wanted to ask about the "Vista challenge 1" as you can find here:

I wanted to ask if I have to do some special things to "activate" the
service or so?
couldnt find any parameter for uvnc.exe(like -install).
I have an customer using Vista and dont have local permissions. So if I
want to change for example the computername UAC is popping up and I have
to put in username and password(I know this), my customer dont know this
because of some company internal permissions.
So my problem is that I have to put in the username and password wothout
saying it to the customer.
Is it possible or do I have no chance?
If you know something about it please give me some information. couldnt
find anything in the forum or homepage of uvnc.

Any information about this problem would be very nice!

Hi redge,

thanks for this Links but noone helped me because you are using winXP for this examples.
JDaus said to me that I have to use the uvnc.exe with the parameter "-installs" for silent install. this works but it is not possible for me to control the UAC prompt.
this window is poping up:


At this point I can move the mouse(on customers PC the mouse do not move), I can not put in username or anything. If the Customer is typing something I can see this.
So is it right to say:
"It is not possible to control UAC from Vista without local admin permissions!" ? So if I have local admin permissions I can disable UAC so dont need to install the service. very annoying.

Probem:

If I want to install the uvnc.exe as service like this:

*\uvnc.exe -installs

this error is coming up on vista:


any ideas?

you need ton install with run as administrator
that eliminate user to install driver without administrator validation.

question:

If I start for example "scprompt"(from JDaus) in administrative-mode and want to have the uvnc.exe as service (with -installs) how will looking the parameters?

for example I have:
uvnc.exe -sc_prompt -sc_exit -autoreconnect -connect *IP*::*PORT* -run -noregistry

where I have to put in the "-installs" ? because of it doesnt worked for me, I tried it on every position but it is not working.

any ideas?

*EDIT:
do I have to set up an predefined name for the service? The uvnc.exe has to find them or how it is working?

scprompt don't support service, volontary removed from JDaus and from Rudi for security reason.
