I have a VNC server running on an embedded Linux machine and I need for others to be able to connect to this server from Window PCs. I have installed Ultra VNC clients on a couple Window XP machines and they work, but only if those users have administrator privileges. If the user does not have those privileges, the client will connect, and verify password, but does not display the remote desktop. It actually appears to hang up. We must force kill the UltraVNC client.
Can anyone tell me actually what this client is looking for that is only typically available for an admin user.
