cannot connect/black screen running as a service

Hi,
rdp to these machines works fine.
vnc server is running as a service on all of them.
When I am logged off (in rdp) I can connect to one of the machines fine.
Other machine has to have an active rdp session otherwise I see black screen when try to connect via vnc.
third machine cannot be connected to period.
Other then the "firewall suggestions". Do you have any other ideas?

PS
all "servers" run windows server 2003 R2 and I installed 32bit (they are all 32 bit) server on them.
I (the client) run win 7 64 bit and installed 32 bit client on it.
