Synergy / QSynergy?

This forum is for VNC related products | This means not only UltraVNC | It even is allowed to announce or describe commercial (and of course non-commercial) programs here (but not anywhere else in the forum)

Synergy / QSynergy?

Post by B »

Any people here have experience, good or bad, with Synergy/Synergy2/QSynergy?

I noticed an article at http://lifehacker.com/5515093/qsynergy- ... d-prettier about a GUI front-end.

I think I played with this thing years and years ago, but I don't remember much about it. It seems more intended for a local access tool?

It's multiplatform, free and open source (GPL).

Any thoughts?

P.S. My apologies if this is not "VNC-related" enough to warrant posting here.

I had problems getting synergy configured, seemed over difficult to me but I like that it's open source.

I ended up settling with InputDirector, closed source but very easy to setup.

Hmm, interesting, but (a) seems to be Windows-only and (b) you have to pay for any commercial use -- it's not free at all.

Thanks for the reply... Maybe I'll give Synergy a shot. The last time I went looking for this kind of thing, I ended up using MRemote, which is really quite good (simultaneously supports VNC/RFB, RDP, Telnet, and SSH), although no longer developed as a free product.
