I've been searching the forum, but can't find the info anywhere...

I've lost track of the number of programs which have been developed over the years and then abbandonded, forgotten etc. by the developers. Or a simple change of web site, domain name etc. renders auto-downloading programs unusable.

Is it possible to have local copies of the extra files needed, so that no download from the net is needed? If so, where can one download these files?

Also...we see gigabyte-size large file downloads on the net today. Would it really hurt to include the files in the "full" installer? Right now, it's 2 MB.

The download page allows you to get a "bins" zip file, this will have everything in it.

It would violate GPL to include none GPL code (the stuff that is downloaded) into an installer.

Now, for helping both me and others with the same "problem" - which files should be placed along with the installer? So that it won't go online for files...

Really, once you have the bins you have everything, you don't need the installer.
