Connection Fails to XP 64 with Active RDP Session

Old issue here I think but just realized the reason...

Trying to connect to a server with an active RDP session, I get either:

1. Console (Windows lock screen) shown for SBS 2003 32, XP 32, W7 64.
2. Or "Failed to connect to server!" only on XP 64 (of what I have access to).

Years ago, I remember #2 being the only result I expected on any system. Improvement to result #1 was made many versions ago but seems to have missed XP 64.

Can anyone confirm or am I just missing something?

.. hmmm as far as I remember there was no "improvement" for #1. Is there a need for improvement? In the past I accepted this behaviour as normal as long as the server runs as a system service. Because the server runs in system context AND will capture you a console session, no rdp session. If the server runs in application mode your active rdp session is captured. But (of course) only as long as the rdp session is active and the rdp windows is not minimized. For a help desk scenario it makes sense to start the server within a rdp session. But for administration purposes the server runs as system service, doesn't it?

But possibly I'm wrong. Rudi?

Correct.
console=service
rdp=app


Only with PChelpware V2 you can select the session you want.
On connection you get a list of active sessions, then you select if you want
to connect to the console, rdp#1, rdp#2,...
