new installation vncviewer not working

I downloaded and compiled sc.exe with the direct option and it loads on the client pc , but when i run vncviwer -listen nothing appears.
1. is sc.exe going thru my router, configured to allow 5500 to my pc
2. what should vncviwer -listen show
how do i stop vncviewer

You should see the VNC icon appear in the taskbar ... you can close it by right mouse clicking on the icon

2. what should vncviwer -listen show
netstat -a at the command prompt will show that it is LISTENING on TCP port 5500.
