SC With Windows Firewall SP2

Post by gauss78 »

Hi,

I have been using the SC program for a while now with success. However I recently had a friend contact me for help. I sent them my SC File and told them what to do. (Note that I have a dynamic dns name in the file as my IP address is not static.)

They ran the SC file their end and nothing happened my end. They are not behind a router but are running Windows Firewall SP2. When visiting my friend I ran some checks on the firewall by adding the reporting feature and noticed in the report that each time SC was ran the firewall was not showing the dynamic dns name in the report and hence not connecting. I think I have read that Windows Firewall SP2 will not resolve host names so is this the problem? and do I have to send out a new singleclick file each time my IP address changes (this is why I used the dyndns service to avoid exactly this problem!!!)
