If I am behind a router

Post by stvdel »

Ok, so I want to make a single click .exe file to give to someone so that I could help them with remote support. I see that I must enter my ip address in order for their computer to connect with mine while I am in listener mode. The question I have is that my computer is behind a router so when I am making the single click file would I just enter the ip address my isp gave me or do I need to enter more than that?

You need to port forward from your router to the viewer. default port is 5500

www.portforward.com (i think) is a good place to start if you have never done it before.

I suggest you test on a lan before trying port forwarding, as this will allow you to understand the steps, & confirm viewer working before portforward.

there is plenty of information in this forum, use the search, & you will find more info

also, try scprompt RTR version... it allows you to enter IP address manually, not mess with setting up helpdesk.txt etc (look @ sticky post)
