Windows 7 Home Premium - How to configure Firewall for uvnc?

I have used UVNC for a long time on many machines no problem.

I just set it (uvnc server) up on a new Dell PC running Win7 Home Prem.

With only basic settings in the VNC server and a password, I can only connect to the server on Win7 if the firewall is completely disabled.

I have tried everything I can think of in setting up the ports in the Windows firewall but it won't work for me - connection refused. Turn off the firewall on the Win7 machine and I can log right in.

I am connecting from an XP machine on the same LAN.

Any suggestions?

start... cmd right click on it and select left click Run as administrator (is very important)
otherwise, you no have enough privilege for open port.

(shortcut keyboard Shift+Ctrl+Enter) + Alt+Y (accept UAC)

netsh firewall set portopening protocol=TCP port=5800 name=vnc5800 mode=ENABLE profile=All
netsh firewall set portopening protocol=TCP port=5900 name=vnc5900 mode=ENABLE profile=All

Even when running as a service?

Or do I need to re-install it using Run as administrator?

application mode or service mode is not important and unrelated.

for install software, always install run as administrator except if only intented for the only current user !
for run for all users. you must install run as administrator
