Connection failed - End of Stream

Post by vincentt »

Hi,
When trying to connect to a VNC server, I get the following error in a dialog box

Info Message
Connection failed - End of Stream

Possible causes:
-Another user is already listening on this ID
-Bad Connection

If the VNC Server service is restarted, this error goes for but then reappears. Its not possible to keep restarting the service either. Many users connect to the same system, and often there are multiple connections, but VNC does support multi-connections. Any settings that need to be changed to fix this issue?

I haven't seen that particular error, but I don't do a lot of one-to-many setups.

How exactly are the multiple users connecting? Just multiple logins with the view-only password?

I suppose you could use a VNC reflector instead, but that project's pretty old. I was checking out x11vnc for this purpose at one point.

The iTalc project uses VNC and is able to routinely handle broadcasts for 25 or more viewers, so you might check that out too...
