http proxy and install service

Post by JonD »

I'm not sure what this means....

I was connected to a remote user and selected the instal service...
but was refused because of a message something like
"cannot do because of http proxy"

Don't have the exact message but perhaps someone could comment.?

It's not a situation I have encountered previously.

If InstantSupport detects that a proxy server is enabled for Internet Explorer it will give you that message.
This is a limitation of UltraVNC that it will not work with a proxy server when installed as a service.

That's all new to me...
So this would be something the user has setup on their machine?

Usually it's schools that have proxies setup in my experience.
In the case of home users it's usually a virus that has set the proxy setting.
