repeater crashes on Windows XP

repeater crashes on Windows XP

I am having trouble getting repeater to work on Windows XP Pro. Installation and startup are fine. But when I try to connect through distributer, it crashes immediately. I have put repeater on my laptop running Windows 7 with no problem. I have tried repeater on a XP pro laptop with the same error. I does not matter if Windows firewall is on or off. Run as administrator does not help. I have tried newer and older versions of repeater with no success.

Have I missed something obvious?
