Custom name in chat window

Hello,

when using chat windows, the hostnames are displayed to identify who's talking.
It would be wonderful if we could change some settings and choose to display usernames instead of hostnames, so it will be more clear who are on both sides of the channel.
username and hostname are both system variables so it should be possible.
